Refurbishment of the Public building stock towards nZEB (REPUBLIC_ZEB)

  • Define cost-benefit optimised “packages of measures” based on efficient and quality-guaranteed technologies for the refurbishment of the public building stock towards nZEB that are standardised and adopted by builders and building owners.
  • State-of-the-art assessment of the public building stock through a country-specific evaluation of the energy consumption and CO2 emissions;
  • Define reference buildings;
  • Develop a common framework and a harmonised methodology for the definition of a nZEB concept for public buildings

Refurbishment of existing buildings towards nearly Zero-Energy Buildings (nZEB) offers a huge potential for energy savings. RePublic_ZEB project focuses on the Mediterranean and the South-East European countries, because of common conditions in terms of climate, energy performance and available renewables potential and aims at having a significant impact on the local energy policies and on the building industries and market. The main objectives are: to support the participating countries in capacity building and rising Energy Efficiency awareness of the nZEB policy; to identify the criteria and definition of nZEB; to ensure the way to refurbish the existing public building stock toward nZEB.
